My Yoga Class

I signed up for my yoga class today. Too bad I can’t get this guy as my teacher. He’s cute, and he's holding his class on a beach. Lord, I think I’ve enrolled in the wrong school.

I started back to school three years ago to earn my journalism degree. The day I signed up for my first classes, my college guidance counselor told me I had to take a gym class. I informed him I was too old to wear gym shorts and play dodge ball with a bunch of kids. My counselor assured me that they had classes designed for the “mature student.” That’s code for old geezer. And that’s me, an old nurse who wants to keep learning.

Oh yeah, my boss is paying for my class. It’s tuition reimbursement great. Score one for the geezer!

I think you gave up too easily - you should have held out for the hottie on the beach!

Thanks for stopping by my place today and leaving such a nice comment. See you next time!

Ohhh, yoga sounds fun. Let us know how you feel after the first day of class.

I thought about you last night. I was visiting a family member in a Psychiatric Ward. The whole place intrigues me - the human mind and how it can go awry. There was one particular woman who had just been admitted and was doing laps around the halls. Her eyes were red like she had been crying for days and she looked like she was lost, both in the hospital and in her own body. All I could do was smile and walk on. Not sure if she even saw me. I would love to work somewhere like that and help people. If only I had been better in math and science.

Hello eveyone: Thank you for your comments.

Lea, sorry someone in your family is having mental health issues. I hope things go well for them, and they start feeling better soon.

I'll let you guys know what happens in yoga class. Lord knows I need a way to relieve stress that doesn't involve shopping on the Internet:-)

Journalism?! Oh no, darlin'! I have a degree in journalism, and you know where I am right now...back in school!!! Really, it is a fun major. Horribly unprofitable, not a lot of jobs, but if you're a news junkie who can write succinctly, it is fantastic. I miss it really, but I was never one for doing hard news...I'm far too opinionated, and there aren't many newspapers out there looking for yet another blowhard for the op-ed pages.

Good luck with your yoga class. When I took my first one I was worried that I would have trouble shutting off my mind, but simply trying to hold those poses in 3-D space was enough to dispel that myth. And the last pose, always the one where you get to lie down and breathe quietly for 5 minutes is my absolute favorite!

Thanks for your kind words on my site as well.
